Tunnelling technology

Our processes

We renew sewage systems, lay protective pipes, construct escape tunnels and flood relief tunnels.

Advantages of compressed air tunnelling

Compressed air tunnelling is a special tunnelling method in which tunnelling with open shields is also carried out in groundwater by applying compressed air to the face.

With compressed air technology, the advantages of open shields over closed tunnelling machines can also be fully exploited in groundwater. Compressed air tunnelling is a very economical construction method, especially under these conditions:

  • Obstacle removal underground
  • face support

Removing obstacles underground

With open shields, artificial and natural obstacles of any kind can be removed without any problems.

In the case of full face machines with a closed face, however, obstacle removal is often only possible with a recovery pit.

Face support

In contrast to the full face machine, the open face shield is the variable technology that allows you to react quickly to changing ground conditions.

We are happy to assist you with the conceptualisation of compressed air work from planning to execution.

We offer you advice on all aspects of compressed air technology, such as

  • Determination of compressed air requirements
  • Blower safety
  • Requirements of the Compressed Air Ordinance
  • Consultancy by compressed air experts in accordance with § 18 of the Compressed Air Ordinance

We have equipped ourselves with the latest compressed air technology. The compressed air is generated by high-pressure screw compressors, the drive motors are frequency-controlled, resulting in very low noise emissions, which means that a compressed air system can also be operated in urban areas.
