“The same procedure as every year?!” Fortunately, it’s not “every year”, but we can still clearly picture similar scenes from when a 400-tonne crane stood by the Isar to lift the steel girders for the superstructure of the temporary bridge👍.
Yes, a lot has happened since our newly built bridge over the Kleine Isar was commissioned and opened to traffic in the early hours of 30 April 2026👏.
The temporary bridge there has been dismantled and is now being rebuilt next to the bridge over the Große Isar, as you can see impressively in the following pictures and even in a short video .
Whether on the Kleine Isar or the Große Isar, none of this would be possible without the groundwork laid by our civil engineering team. To reach the pier axes, a stone embankment was constructed in the river. Perfect teamwork from everyone involved🤝!
As soon as traffic can flow over the temporary bridge, we’ll move on to the next milestone: the demolition of the existing bridge over the Große Isar💪.
Even though every bridge has its own unique features, our project team can, of course , learn a great deal from past projects. After all , there isn’t as great a difference between the two bridges as one might assume from their names. In fact, the length and area of the bridges over the ‘Kleine Isar’ and ‘Große Isar’ are identical.
In keeping with the opening lines from *Dinner for One*, our closing statement also comes from this cult classic: “We will do our very best.” With this in mind, we wish everyone involved continued success and an accident-free construction period🍀.
