A switching station for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage lines is being built on an area of around 115,000 m². Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau is constructing the bored pile foundations for three replacement pylons for the 220/380 kV line.

A particular challenge in this project was the contamination of the soil due to previous unauthorised pit backfilling with various types of waste on the site. In addition, the drilling took place directly under the 380 kV lines in operation, which meant that a short-mast version of the drilling rig from the company's own machine park had to be used.

Heinrich Walter Bau GmbH was responsible for the structural engineering and civil engineering work on the project and took care of the foundation work on the replacement pylons and switchgear as well as the soil remediation and sealing.
