Biebelried motorway junction – Fürth-Erlangen motorway junction

As part of the A3 PPP infrastructure project, the 71-kilometre stretch between the Biebelried and Fürth-Erlangen motorway junctions is being widened from four to six lanes. Eiffage Infra-Bau is responsible for the technical management of the project.

Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau’s scope of work includes the following services:

• Construction of in-situ concrete pile foundations, DU = 900 mm to 1,500 mm,
  depth 8.00 to 25.00 m
• Construction of sheet pile wall retaining structures, including bracing and anchors
• Installation of grouted anchors (4 strands), length 25.00 m
• Construction of sheet pile walls as central longitudinal retaining structures and for securing excavation pits
• Construction of launch and reception pits for tunnelling operations DN 400 to 1,100 mm (auger drilling and microtunnelling)
• 28 auger boreholes with diameters ranging from DN 400 to 1,000 mm, at intervals of 20 to 79 m
• 6 microtunnelling projects with diameters ranging from DN 600 to 1,100 mm and lengths ranging from 26 to 106 m
