As already quoted in our article on this year’s Schwabach Company Run – “Success doesn’t come from wanting, but from DOING” – the first business workshop on 12 October 2026 was also entirely focused on achieving goals together. After all, whilst wanting something shows the direction we want to go in, ACTION is what gets you to your goal. And what’s the best way to do that? Well, TOGETHER, of course♥️.
Althoughour commercial division is also a ‘specialist department’, compared to our traditional specialist areas of track construction, civil engineering and underground works , it brings together a wide variety of departments – some of which have professional overlaps, but with very different requirements – ranging from our HR department, reception, financial accounting and commercial controlling, to project management and procurement (strategic and operational), right through to our apprentices. In short: a colourful bouquet of tasks, topics and opportunities, which our teams introduced to one another in short presentations at the start of the workshop 💐. The implementation was just as varied as the departments themselves: from coordination sessions using the Menti app, through traditional PowerPoint presentations, to a challenging knowledge quiz – everything was on offer for an entertaining start to the workshop👏.
Things remainedjust as exciting during the next agenda item, with a presentation on ‘AI assistance in everyday working life’ delivered by a colleague from our group headquarters , who had travelled all the way from Düsseldorf especially for the occasion. We could have listened all day to the diverse and impressive possibilities – but also the limitations – of AI , learning something new every minute💡. We’d like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt THANKS once again for these fascinating insights, the accessible presentation and the time he devoted to us. One thing is already clear: this certainly won’t be the last time we’ve seen and heard from him. But first, we have a little “confession” to make: this text was written without the use of AI (but with lots of love😍).
After the lunch break, we set off refreshed and focused on ‘achieving our goals together’, as the theme ‘Work Well, Live Well’ was on the agenda. Inspired by the various talks from guest speakers on the topics of health and nutrition, mindfulness, as well as work-life balance and exercise , a lively discussion developed within the team, from which we were able to take away a great deal for our everyday lives, both professionally and privately.
The slogan “If you want to make a difference, you have to get moving” set the tone for the next item on the agenda:“an hour of yoga for everyone” – or , to put it another way: – an impressive (boundary-pushing) experience and a brilliant mix of tension and relaxation😅. We then listened with great interest to the keynote talk by Hubert Schwarz, owner of the centre of the same name (the seminar hotel for our business workshop) and an extreme athlete. A 10 km swim, a 421 km cycle and an 84 km run = the “ULTRA Man World Championship”, the “Race Across America” or cycling across Alaska in -30 degrees🥶 are just a fraction of his extreme activities over the last 40 years – leaving many of us absolutely gobsmacked😱.
During our barbecue evening together, complete with a campfire, bread on a stick and marshmallows, we continued to discuss our goals and how best to achieve them . Of course, TOGETHER♥️. Or, to quote Julian Kaltenecker’s talk: “I can, I will. End of story.”💪
Our special THANKS go to the entire team at the Hubert Schwarz Centre in Büchenbach near Schwabach: from the very first contact right through to the entire on-site organisation – simply brilliant and highly recommended for seminars and the like. There’s still so much to discover at your place – we’ll definitely be back👏!
