Vocatium Nuremberg, which takes place once a year over two days in July, has been a fixture in our Eiffage Infra-Süd trade fair calendar since 2023⚓. This is because one particular feature sets it apart from many a renowned trade fair:
Pupils are given the opportunity in advance to secure interview slots with their preferred company. This year , demand was so high that we were able to arrange seven appointments with interested candidates even before the fair began👏. We were particularly pleased that six of the seven were interested in our vocational training opportunities. However, the biggest rush came from the countless spontaneous appointments. Whether commercial, vocational, work placements or dual study programmes: visitors were thrilled by our wide range of offerings and the multitude of apprenticeship opportunities. Fortunately, we had the Eiffage ‘Baustellenturbo’ drink to hand, which gave our visitors an instant energy boost and soothed the odd hoarse voice🥤.
A total of 6,000 pupils from 67 schools attended , and around 16,300 one-to-one meetings took place. It felt as though half of them were at our stand🤩. Our two second-year apprentices played a major part in this success. They shared first-hand accounts of their training experiences, making the content even more accessible to visitors, some of whom were still relatively inexperienced. After spending the morning of the first day of the fair together with our HR officer, they felt confident enough to tackle the afternoon all on their own💪. And after the first day of the fair, they were so fired up that they absolutely rocked the second day all on their own🔥. And to round things off, a “missing person’s notice” after two days at the fair:
- A moving box full of apprenticeship brochures
- 150 ‘Construction Site Turbo’ drinks
- 250 spirit level keyrings
- countless Eiffage pens…
…we were left with just a few lonely pencils and lanyards, but above all , lots of enthusiastic young people: working together for the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow🍀!
