We’re on board: Special Olympics Bavaria and the Middle Franconia district of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association are to become exclusive sponsors of the 2025 State Games in Erlangen.
Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports movement for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities, officially recognised by the IOC. It currently has 5.5 million athletes across 190 countries worldwide, has been active in Germany since 1991 and has been part of the Bavarian State Association since 2004.
The State Games are Bavaria’s largest sporting event for people with intellectual disabilities and will take place in Erlangen from 14 to 18 July 2025. Up to 1,500 athletes, 400 coaches, 750 volunteers and 200 family members are expected to attend.
The Middle Franconia district of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association (BBIV) has called on its members to support the State Games. Four regional construction companies have been won over to the cause and, together with the BBIV, now form the exclusive partner of the Games. The following companies are equally involved in this commitment:
• Eiffage Infra-Süd GmbH
• Rotec Rohrtechnik GmbH Erlangen
• Nürnberger Baugruppe GmbH + Co. KG
• W. Markgraf GmbH & Co. KG Bauunternehmung Bayreuth
As part of the inclusive action day organised by the BBIV and Special Olympics (SOBY), the district chairman of the BBIV’s Middle Franconia district, Matthias Kraus, and SOBY President Erwin Horak signed the joint agreement at the Construction Industry Centre in Nuremberg-Wetzendorf to formalise the partnership.
