We are delighted that our structural maintenance department has been awarded the contract to renovate sections H and I of the Koblenz elevated motorway. The extensive work will be carried out in two construction phases and will include the renewal of the carriageway surface including sealing, the transition structures, bridge caps, railings and safety equipment. In addition, the concrete superstructures will be repaired both internally and externally. The drainage pipes of both substructures are being renewed along their entire length and in some areas are being relocated from the box girder to the outside.
The work above the Deutsche Bahn railway, which runs underneath the substructures, poses a particular challenge. Due to prescribed closure periods, the renovation work in this area must be carried out in night shifts so as not to disrupt railway operations.
The contract was awarded by Landesbetrieb Mobilität (LBM) Cochem-Koblenz. The construction period is scheduled from July 2025 to March 2027. The contract is worth around 7.3 million euros.
