Krondorf viaduct

Phase 1 now open

Since the weekend of 15–16 June 2024, the first construction phase of the Krondorf viaduct has been in operation. Thanks to the 4+0 traffic configuration on the new bridge, both the Regensburg and Nuremberg-bound carriageways are now open to two lanes of traffic once again.

Our major project is now entering its second half. Preparations are currently underway for the demolition of the second existing bridge, for which the advance scaffolding for the demolition of the existing superstructure is being set up. This scaffolding is to be pre-assembled and installed beneath the bridge by mid-July to facilitate the dismantling of the carriageway, which consists of a prestressed box girder. Dismantling will commence on 20 June 2024 with the milling off of the asphalt surface.
