The Conneforde–Cloppenburg–Merzen project is a sustainability initiative by TenneT aimed at transmitting green wind power from the North Sea to the interior of the country via high-voltage overhead lines and underground cables.
Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau GmbH is responsible for the complete scope of work relating to the pylon foundations – including the installation and alignment of the pylon bases – at 46 locations within the 21 km-long Planning Approval Section 1 of the project.
To this end, the team at Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau GmbH is carrying out the bored pile foundations in-house using two of its own machines and is managing the deployment of all subcontractors to provide the subsequent services. These include groundwater management, excavation and shoring works for the construction pits, and pile head finishing, as well as pile quality control, the positioning and alignment of the pylon bases, the subsequent reinforced concrete works for the pylon foundation heads visible above ground, and the final backfilling of the construction pit.
We are proud to be contributing to the infrastructural foundation of the energy transition through this and numerous other overhead line construction projects, so that green electricity can soon be fed from the coasts into the German electricity transmission grid.
