Reconstruction of the 50-year-old Krondorf viaduct near Velburg on the A3 Nuremberg / Regensburg motorway due to its poor condition and the ever-increasing volume of traffic and the resulting need for load-bearing reserves. Renovation is not possible due to the existing damage and load-bearing capacity deficits.
The existing bridge will be demolished in two construction phases and rebuilt using the incremental launching method.
The new beam bridge will be constructed as a continuous girder over nine spans, with spans of 30 - 60 metres to be bridged. In total, the structure has an impressive length of 475 metres and spans the valley at a height of around 40 metres.
