From 3 May to 12 June 2025, our teams took on a 35 km track renewal project, commissioned by the Nordic Infrastructure Group and worth SEK 33 million (around €3 million).
Engineering meets nature
The project is not just about steel and sleepers, but also about working in one of the most impressive landscapes in Europe. The railway line runs along the Norwegian coast and offers our teams breathtaking views of the sea as they renew the tracks with the modern P100 and RSLP wagons. Every shift was a reminder of the unique privilege (and challenge) of creating infrastructure in such a spectacular setting.
Mastering Nordic challenges
But beauty comes with its own challenges. The track geometry is complex and requires the utmost precision and extensive expertise from our teams. Norway's status outside the EU brings additional regulations and logistical hurdles, while the high cost of living requires careful planning and great flexibility.
Outlook
The project opens up further opportunities: Our client has the option to extend the contract until 2026 and 2027. For Eiffage Infra-Bau, this project is more than just a contract - it is an opportunity to demonstrate our expertise, strengthen partnerships and leave a lasting mark on one of Scandinavia's most important railway lines.
