Starting signal for the A31 industrial park. The ground-breaking ceremony at the beginning of July 2024 marked the start of the second construction phase at the A31 Legden Ahaus Industrial Park.

Our civil engineering team at Eiffage Infra-West is opening up new terrain for the economic development of the region on an impressive 146,000 m² site.

Major project with vision
By the end of 2025, around 20,000 m³ of earth will have been moved, 2 km of wastewater and rainwater drains laid and 5,500 m² of asphalt paved. In addition, a concrete rainwater clarifier and an earthwork rainwater retention basin will be built. The main work is due to be completed in October 2025.
The A31 Legden Ahaus Industrial Park Association - an association of the municipalities of Ahaus and Legden - has commissioned us to realise this major project. The project volume amounts to €4.3 million net

Our services: from the sewerage system to the road
As part of the project, we are constructing the entire sewerage system using gravity flow, with concrete pipes from DN 400 to DN 1500 for the rainwater and PP pipes for the wastewater. In addition, we are constructing a rainwater retention basin in earthworks, a rainwater clarifier as a concrete basin and the development roads. A special feature: the frost protection layer in the road construction is made from recycled railway ballast and the sandy soil on site - a sustainable approach that conserves resources.

The challenge of soil management
One of the biggest challenges is soil management. The aim is to reuse as much of the resulting soil as possible within the project or in other in-house measures. This requires careful planning and close coordination between all parties involved.
