Things are happening in Alzey! Our Eiffage Infra-Südwest is in the thick of things instead of just being there when it comes to the expansion of the eastern industrial estate.

On an area of 80,000 m² or 8 hectares, we are working at full speed to make the infrastructure fit for new companies, traffic and, last but not least, species protection. The Civil Engineering and Road Construction department is taking care of the development work - including the construction of a 3.8 km long sewer, which will be used to separate wastewater and rainwater in future. The rainwater will be channelled into two retention basins in a controlled manner. At the same time, a total of 28 km of supply lines for water, electricity and fibre optics are being laid. In addition, a new roundabout was built near Schafhausen - a real challenge due to the numerous underground pipes. Gas and drainage pipes were also laid - with one eye always on species protection and the other on minimising disruption to traffic.

Our civil engineering team is handling a real highlight: a bridge around 40 metres long over the Selz will connect the northern and southern areas of the industrial estate in future. Why so long if the river is narrow? Because renaturalisation needs space! Construction of the eastern bypass is progressing rapidly. The entire transport link should be completed and in operation by October 2025. And the best thing is that the schedule is being adhered to, as is the budget - the total costs of €11.6 million are under control. Big names such as Lufthansa Technik Aero and Importhaus Wilms have already settled in the new industrial estate. And the improved transport links provided by the eastern ring road will make Alzey even more attractive for other companies. What at first glance looks like "just" road construction is actually a complex interplay of modern infrastructure, ecological responsibility and logistical excellence.

With so much nature, species protection must not be neglected.

We ensure this with:

- an amphibian tunnel for lizards, frogs and co,

- protective fences for bats and

- green corridors that connect biotopes with each other.

Special care must also be taken - because a beaver has already taken up residence here.
