We are delighted that our civil engineering department has been awarded the contract to build a bus hall for hydrogen-powered buses in Groß-Gerau for Riedwerke.

The site previously housed a single-storey reinforced concrete hall for 33 buses, a repair hall, a petrol station and office and administration buildings. As part of the conversion of bus operations to hydrogen drive and the expansion of operations, the construction of a new, modern depot is required. To this end, the wash hall and the bus hall have already been demolished, containers moved and the paved areas completed. A temporary hydrogen refuelling station has been installed on the eastern boundary of the site and is now to be extended.

The existing temporary hydrogen filling station on the site as well as a petrol and diesel filling station require special safety precautions due to the risk of explosion. In addition, the work will be carried out during ongoing operations.

The contract is worth around €3.8 million net.
