The three-track expansion of the important railway line between Emmerich and Oberhausen is making great strides. The existing tracks are currently being upgraded so that they can continue to be used later during the expansion. Our Eiffage Infra-Rail team is involved in the general refurbishment on behalf of DB InfraGO AG. The renewal of the tracks is being carried out using both the assembly line method and the conventional conversion method - a logistical and technical masterpiece.
A total of 27,000 tonnes of ballast and 47,000 sleepers are being used in this project. The aim of the expansion is to significantly increase the capacity of the line and optimise the infrastructure for longer goods trains.
A special highlight: a film team from WDR was recently on site and made an exciting report about the work and our innovative conversion train for the "Aktuelle Stunde Duisburg" programme. The report offers exclusive insights behind the scenes and shows how modern railway infrastructure is created.
