The VBA extends over a length of approx. 7.5 km on the A 3 motorway between the Hilden motorway junction and the Mettmann junction, approx. 18 km between the Hilden and Breitscheid junctions (2nd construction phase) and the 3rd construction phase on the A 3 motorway and partly on the A 2 motorway between the Breitscheid and Oberhausen junctions in both directions.

- walk-on traffic sign cantilevers
- walk-on variable message sign gantries (WVZB)
- 4 WVZB for dynamic signposting with integrated traffic jam information (dWiSta)
- cable ducts, induction loops, prism turners
- as well as the execution of all electrical installations
