It began with the contract to relocate the pipeline and bypass the B8 (project volume €6.6 million), followed by the commissioning of Eiffage Infra-West and Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau for the second sub-project to construct the bored pile wall (project volume €5.75 million). We were also able to secure a further sub-project.
Straßen.NRW commissioned Eiffage Infra-West together with Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau for the next project with earthworks, embankment construction, drainage and road construction, sealing and diaphragm wall construction as well as engineering structures (BW 2+3) and track construction.
This cross-company contract requires the construction expertise of all parties involved. "The task now is to jointly develop a complex workflow in which one gear meshes with another. With the combined expertise from our companies, I am sure that we are ideally equipped for this task as a well-coordinated team," explains Roger Nebelo, Head of Civil Engineering/Industrial Construction at Eiffage Infra-West.
The project volume for the new project is €35.2 million. It runs from 29 June 2020 to 21 October 2022.
On 9 July 2021, the 10,000-tonne bridge structure was moved to its destination. The structure was erected as a whole next to the railway line and moved to its planned location using a hydraulic system via a 70-metre-long skidway. The bridge is 69 metres long, 23 metres wide and almost 10 metres high and carries the railway line over the B58n.
