The transmission of electrical energy generated from renewable sources to the southern parts of the country requires the construction of several extra-high-voltage power lines.
One section of this is the Audorf–Flensburg stretch in the far north, for which the grid operator TenneT AG is responsible. Due to the nature of the ground, the new overhead line pylons to be erected on this section will, for the most part, be founded on piles. Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau GmbH has been commissioned to construct large-diameter cast-in-situ concrete bored piles with a diameter of 1 metre and foundation depths of up to 25 metres. The challenge lies in ensuring the logistics are managed effectively, given the frequent site relocations in a very rural setting and the prevailing ground conditions characterised by a very high groundwater level.
This includes the following services:
- 470 linear metres of large-diameter cast-in-situ bored piles (diameter 1 m), depth up to 25 m
- Manufacture and supply of 45 tonnes of bored pile reinforcement
- 6 relocation operations between mast locations
