Straßen.NRW commissioned Eiffage Infra-West with the construction of BW 18 as an overpass for the new B 67n/B474n Reken - Dülmen over the DB railway line between Dülmen and Coesfeld. The contract includes the bridge structure and a 26 metre-long culvert under the DB line.
The structure is a single-span slab bridge as a half-frame, the superstructure consists of prestressed precast concrete girders and an in-situ concrete addition as a carriageway slab. The span width is approximately 9.50 metres.
With a relatively short core construction time of just 8 months, 400 m³ of soil was replaced, approx. 700 m³ of concrete and approx. 120 tonnes of concrete and prestressing steel were used.
