These impressive images show the approximately 165-metre-long steel truss superstructure being moved into its final position via a total of twelve shifting and repositioning stages.
The replacement structure and the construction of the three new superstructures spanning the River Lippe involve, in particular:
- complex foundation works in the flood-prone Lippe area
- construction of the substructures, including abutments and wing walls
- Manufacture and assembly of the large-scale steel superstructure with truss girders
- Dismantling and demolition of the existing structures
- Installation of components and fittings for the track, drainage and cable routing
- Extensive shoring, dewatering and earthworks for excavation, backfilling and embankment widening to accommodate the third track
In parallel, the traffic facilities are being adapted, the adjacent Kesselweg is being rerouted, and drainage and cable routes are being re-organised. In this way, we are creating the structural conditions for the high-capacity upgraded line and stable, future-proof railway operations.
The construction work is being carried out in collaboration with our sister company, Eiffage Infra-West, and SEH Engineering – also part of the Eiffage Group – as our steelworks partner. The successful completion of the final track laying in this project once again demonstrates the high level of expertise and excellent collaboration of everyone involved in the construction work – from planning and site logistics right through to precise on-site execution.
