The project is a 3 km long section of the continuous three-track extension of the upgraded line 2270 (ABS) 46/2 (Amsterdam-) border D/NL - Emmerich-Oberhausen

In the city centre area of Oberhausen, the line is being widened with approx. 100,000 m³ of earthworks, 5,000 m of track and 8 points, as well as 2,500 m of bored piles and 7,000 m of vibrating tamping columns. In addition to the associated civil engineering, disposal, drainage and cable civil engineering work, construction work will be carried out on 9 engineering structures and overhead line work on 3,000 metres of track with 140 new masts.
