The city of Recklinghausen intends to close the gap between Dortmunder Straße and Breslauer Straße. The new Ludwig-Erhard-Allee is to be built in an approx. 700 m long section behind Recklinghausen's main railway station. To this end, part of the current Ossenbergweg will be dismantled (approx. 170 m) and a section of approx. 530 m of a brownfield site (former colliery and railway site) will be developed.
As part of the new construction, a new DN1500 combined sewer and a new DN1000 rainwater sewer will be laid along the entire length of the route. An existing combined sewer (egg-shaped pipe) is to be demolished step by step over a length of approx.
The new road will also be built over its entire length with a 10 m wide asphalt carriageway and a concrete pavement on both sides, parking bays and tree grates.
In the southern construction area, a new asphalt park and ride car park (P+R South) will also be built. In the centre of the construction site, another new park and ride car park (P+R North) will be built on the eastern side using ECO paving. The drainage work for the two car parks is also part of the construction project. In total, more than 200 new car parking spaces will be created on the construction site.
