EÜ Lippe incl. swivelling = part of the so-called Betuwe line between Oberhausen and Emmerich as an important connection or expansion route in the European rail network, in particular the Rotterdam - Genoa route.

EÜ Lippe, including the junction = part of the so-called Betuwe Line between Oberhausen and Emmerich, serving as a key link and expansion route within the European rail network, particularly on the Rotterdam–Genoa route.

The project involves the construction of a new steel truss bridge approximately 160 m long across the River Lippe, as well as the replacement of the existing Lippe bridges with two further steel truss bridges of identical design, including the associated widening of the flow cross-section in the event of flooding (construction site = floodplain). In addition, the two existing tracks will be renewed over a distance of approximately 1.5 km and extended to include a third track.

This includes the following works:

  • Superstructures = steel construction
  • Substructures = solid construction (abutments & central piers)
  • Ground improvement (RSV)
  • Earthworks
