The bridge structures BW 528, BW 530 and BW 531 in both directions of travel were also renovated as part of the resurfacing work on the A650 motorway between the Ludwigshafen interchange and the Maxdorf interchange. The refurbishment included the complete repair of the caps, the sealing and the renewal of the asphalt layers. The transition structure at BW 530 was also replaced and a contact guard was installed in the area of the railway. In the direction of travel towards Bad Dürkheim, the noise barrier was renewed on two structures.
Concrete repair work was carried out on the soffits of all structures.
One of the special features of this measure was the large-scale chloride renovation using the pilgrim step method, as well as the conversion of a passenger car park located in a lizard habitat. To protect the reptiles, a lizard protection fence had to be installed along the entire 3 kilometre stretch of road.
This included the following services:
- Coordination with the Rhein-Haardt railway
- 1,000 m² of sealing and asphalt on the structures
- Demolition of monolithic caps 93.20 m
- 85 m noise barrier
- 12 m contact protection
- 133 m³ of concrete used
