Well, are you missing Flembach Bridge Day yet ? Okay , a Friday in itself has plenty of perks, but without an update from our Flembach Bridge in Michelfeld, it only feels half as good😍. After a two-week break, the time has finally come again today. Because if you think everything’s sorted here following the official opening on 30 September 26, you’re mistaken.
Our bridge-building team are still working flat out to complete the site – or rather, at the moment, it’s our civil engineering team whoare leading the charge💪. Because even the paving and the remaining earthworks are progressing at the speed of light🚀:
The embankment steps on both axes have been paved – including the landings at the top of the steps and the two rubble pits on Axis 10. The paved area at the abutment on axis 20 has also already been completed, and the entire area around the axis has been covered with topsoil. Our BE area is also barely recognisable anymore, as the majority of it has already been dismantled and removed🚛.
Work is currently underway on creating the new stream channel and building an embankment for the cycle path🚲. As soon as this is finished, the Flembach will flow through its new channel and our work will be fully completed👏 .
As you can already guess from the cover photo, the Eiffage barrel also came under fire at the Michelfeld Kirwa festivities . Last Sunday, the big moment finally arrived and the special Flembach Bridge beer was tapped🍻by Birgit Barth herself, the mayor of Auerbach –naturally in perfect Kirwa weather. A successful tap-off to mark the final sprint on our Flembach Bridge!
We wish everyone involved in the project a successful and accident-free completion🍀.
