This is about the special noise barriers made of acrylic glass. The order includes the construction of 11,400 square metres of noise barriers, which corresponds to an area of more than 44 tennis courts. In addition to aluminium elements, acrylic glass elements are also being used. The retaining walls were erected over a length of 1.58 kilometres and have a height of 5 metres to 9.5 metres. As part of the planning approval process and following a dialogue with local residents, DB InfraGO decided to use the more unusual material. The acrylic glass walls serve to minimise shading for the residents directly affected.
