A joint presentation by the client and contractor on a project that has already been realised at a regional civil engineering seminar? That shows how cooperation works at eye level🤝. As part of the VSVI Civil Engineering Seminar on 5 May 2016 in Nuremberg, we presented our pilot project "Functional Tendering" together with our client, the Amberg-Sulzbach State Building Authority, using the example of our completed Fuhrbach Bridge project in Brand, located in the beautiful Fichtelgebirge mountains. This innovative tendering procedure was analysed from different perspectives - from the public client side to the construction practice. The procedure is a "win-win situation" for both parties: Because on the one hand, it enables the client to bring construction contracts to the market more quickly and, on the other hand, it gives us as contractors the opportunity to make processes in construction operations more efficient in order to ultimately complete it in a cost-optimised & successful manner👍. And that, in turn, is a benefit for the population: fewer construction site-related restrictions due to diversions, noise or dirt pollution👏.
Christoph Weh, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the Amberg-Sulzbach State Building Authority, gave a presentation together with our Paul Hopperdietzel, Head of Civil Engineering.
In addition to our joint presentation, there were other exciting topics on the agenda, e.g:
- News from the Bavarian Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport
- Replacement construction of the Frankenbrücke Regensburg: a semi-integral steel composite deck bridge over the river Regen
- Munich underground railway construction
- Overfly at the Nuremberg-East motorway junction
Many thanks to VSVI Bayern e.V. for the great organisation of this successful event and to all participants for the exciting discussions and professional exchange. Together we build connections that move - together for our future!
