Eiffage Infra-Ost GmbH Drebach has been awarded the contract for the carriageway renewal of the S 221 by the State Office for Road Construction and Transport based in Chemnitz.

The contract involved the section between the end of Marienberg and the entrance to Großrückerswalde, a stretch of 1.175 km in the Erzgebirgskreis district.
The scope of the work carried out included the milling of 11,000 m² of bitumen surface and the laying of 1,700 tonnes of binder and 1,100 tonnes of surface course. In addition, 3,400 metres of verge were renewed and 400 metres of swales and trenches were constructed. In addition, the renovation and renewal of culverts was carried out along the entire length of the construction project.
