Eiffage Infra-Bau and De Romein have been commissioned by Amprion to provide civil engineering services for the construction of the future energy corridor.
The project bundles four direct current underground cable projects and enables the transport of green electricity from offshore wind farms to the Rhine-Main region, supplying it with climate-friendly electricity in the future. Construction starts in 2026.
The challenge:
Moving millions of cubic metres of earth, drilling hundreds of kilometres using the horizontal drilling method and constructing various microtunnels.
Crossing thousands of intersections with roads, rivers, railway tracks and other supply lines.
