As part of the extended flood defences, a mobile flood protection wall was erected in the access road to the Semperoper.

For this purpose, foundations were installed as shallow foundations in the subsoil of the access road. The foundations could only be installed during a half-sided closure, as the operation of the Semper Opera House could not be restricted.
In the event of flooding, the foundations serve as the basic structure for the temporary flood protection wall, which consists of system components with beams and dam elements. The structure was faced with natural stone to match the existing structure.

The key technical data includes the following:

  • Construction of 30m³ reinforced concrete foundations
  • 60m² excavation pit shoring
  • 200m² mobile flood protection system
  • 50m² natural stone facing
