As part of the noise abatement programme on federal railway lines, DB AG is planning a noise protection measure. The construction area of the noise barriers is located in Zschortau, a district of the municipality of Rackwitz in the district of North Saxony, Free State of Saxony on the 6411 Trebnitz - Leipzig line.
The construction of the noise barrier is an "active noise protection measure". The noise barrier will be constructed with highly absorbent wall elements made of aluminium on one and both sides and with transparent material in some areas. The foundation is made using steel pipe foundations. Furthermore, earthworks and earthing measures are to be carried out as part of the construction work. The work is mainly carried out using track-bound equipment during night-time shutdowns.
