The LSW A40 Dortmund-Unna project is another important project to protect residents along the busy transport routes in the Ruhr region.
The measure is divided into two construction phases:
1. BW03/BW04/BW09 - North: Construction period until May 2025
2nd BW03/BW04/BW09 - South: Construction period until May/June 2026
In September, construction of the up to 6.5 m high noise barrier will begin on the B1 in the direction of Dortmund, near Holzwickede. The highly absorbent wall is intended to significantly reduce traffic noise. Completion is scheduled for summer 2026.
Early protection from noise - later greening
The noise barriers will be erected before the federal road is upgraded to a motorway in order to protect the surrounding residential areas from noise and traffic emissions as early as possible. Once the expansion work has been completed, additional greening and compensation measures are planned to compensate for the impact on nature and the landscape and to harmonise the new structures with their surroundings. Our team at Eiffage Infra-Lärmschutz is responsible for the complete construction of the noise barriers on the newly built bridges as part of this project. This specialised work is essential to permanently reduce traffic noise on the busy A40 motorway. With a project volume of €541,788.20 net, the project represents an important order for our team and further strengthens our expertise in the field of noise protection construction. We are delighted with the trust placed in us by our client and look forward to successfully realising this project together!
