The development of the old goods station "Quartier 4.0" included the construction of the surfaces and work on the sewer, pipe and cable routes. We constructed a wastewater and rainwater sewer made of PP up to DN500 and the connections in the lower Grenzstraße. We also carried out the cable and pipe work for electricity, telecommunications, water supply and district heating. Finally, the surfaces were paved, asphalted and concreted.
The special features of this project included the laying of a sewer up to 5 metres deep and the provision of a water treatment plant for the inflowing groundwater. There was also a contaminated area on the site (nitroaromatics). We remediated the contaminated railway site by replacing the contaminated soil. The necessary protective measures posed a particular challenge for us. Another contaminated area was sealed with a concrete cover.
