The Haniel Campus in Duisburg is a sustainable project that we are really proud of!
Our Eiffage Infra-Hochbau is building on the campus site with its HVAC team.
‘Clean energy from clean production’ is the motto and we are supporting the Haniel Campus with the “Enkelfähig” project. What does that actually mean⁉ Enkelfähig means that you act in such an economically sustainable way that you can provide your children and grandchildren with a future worth living. In this case, the aim is to create an environment that is as CO2-neutral as possible. Among other things, our team produces its own independent power supply for the heat pumps. This means that at the end of the year, CO2-neutral provision of the required heating and cooling is achieved.
Our HVAC team faced some interesting challenges with this project. One of these was to install large components in an existing heating centre located on the roof. Two large heat pumps including two recoolers were installed in the roof centre and on the roof. A buffer volume of 12,000 litres was provided for the heating system and 3,000 litres for the cooling system. This means that this volume is provided as storage, which can be called up for heating or air conditioning. The storage tanks had to be inserted into the heating centre through narrow openings. Quite tricky, but our team was able to score points with its many years of know-how and extensive expertise and handle everything without a hitch.
Our partner and energy specialist LAVA ENERGY is supporting the project: the Stuttgart-based company is responsible for the energy modernisation as well as the supply and operation of the systems with renewable energies. We are very proud and delighted to be part of such a sustainable, future-orientated project.
