Construction work for our company began on 1 March 2022 and is expected to last until the middle of
2024. The gross contract value amounts to 8,271 million euros.
The main focus of the work will be on laying empty conduits and micro-ducts. Micro ducts will then also be pulled into the empty conduits, into which the fibre optic cable will be blown.
Our company will carry out approx. 32 km of trench construction using the open trench method.
This involves opening up paved surfaces, laying the pipes and then closing the trenches and restoring the
wide variety of surfaces, including paved, asphalt and grass surfaces.
Pipes are also laid using cable ploughs or by using earth rockets. Earth rockets are used, for example, for house connections, of which we are responsible for laying around 664.
The laying of the empty conduits and microducts covers a length of approx. 57 km. The pulling in of the microducts and the blowing in of the fibre optic cable will be carried out by a subcontractor commissioned by us.
The special feature of the contract area is the many water crossings that have to be overcome.
As an additional service for this construction project, we were commissioned by Mitnetz GmbH
to also lay their supply lines in certain areas.
