A new railway overpass is being built over Bleckeder Landstraße in Lüneburg. The construction project comprises the new construction of a total of five individual bridge structures. Various specialised civil engineering techniques such as bored piles and different shoring systems will be used to ensure the challenging foundation work and the securing of the surrounding terrain.

Otto Wulff Bauunternehmung and Eiffage Infra-Spezialtiefbau GmbH form the EÜ Bleckeder Landstraße joint venture (ARGE) and have been commissioned with the realisation of this complex infrastructure project. While Otto Wulff is responsible for the technical management and civil engineering, Eiffage is responsible for the commercial management as well as all foundation and support work.

The project is currently in the preparation phase. However, the planning approvals are imminent and the drilling equipment for the construction of the supports for the first pre-assembly areas of the bridges is already ready for use. The structures being built will be constructed in accordance with the latest static, structural and economic requirements and will also take into account the special geological conditions on site.

The construction of the new railway overpass will make an important contribution to modernising the infrastructure in Lüneburg and ensure the long-term efficiency of rail traffic. The project is scheduled to run until the end of 2026. A special milestone is the planned closure period from 1 May to 10 July 2026: During this period, all existing bridges will be demolished, new foundations will be laid, the new bridges will be lifted into place and the track systems will be restored.
