After the end of coal mining, RAG Aktiengesellschaft focussed on two core locations. After the head office was completed on the Zollverein coking plant World Heritage Site in Essen, a new control centre was built on the former Pluto mine site in Herne, the second administrative location, as a central monitoring centre for the perpetual loads of the dewatering system.
In this context, a new canteen has been developed for the employees of the administration and control centre as an attractive enhancement of the workplace. Integrated into the entire technical building supply system, the canteen kitchen forms the main component of the technical building services.
This included the following services:
- Drainage of waste water
- Drainage of grease water via grease separator with pump system
- Drainage of rainwater via pump system in a trench
- Drinking water supply including installation of all sanitary facilities
- Heat supply via underground pipeline from the main building
- Heat distribution via central heating distributor in the technical centre
- Heat distribution for the entire canteen via underfloor heating
- Ventilation system on the flat roof for the canteen kitchen area
- Ventilation system in the technical room for the catering area
- Cooling system for catering equipment in the cooking area
- Exhaust air system with fire protection equipment in the cooking area
- Water and waste water supply for all catering equipment
- Control technology for heating and cooling
