A bypass was built to develop the forest pond site and relieve the existing road network.

  • The bypass runs from the A3/Oberhausen-Holten junction to the Weißensteinstraße roundabout and as an extension to the Waldteich site.
  • The A3 exit will be widened and a cycle path created through the Erlengrund industrial estate.
  • In addition, the existing canal in Erlenstraße will be connected to the new canal.
  • EIW is building an integral bridge with prefabricated concrete slabs over the Sterkrader main canal.
  • Extensive noise protection to protect neighbouring residents by Eiffage Infra noise protection
