Civil engineering is currently building a new primary clarifier with a primary clarifier pump cellar (this is used for the mechanical separation of very fine particles that sediment or float on the surface). The basin has a diameter of 22 metres and a funnel that sinks 8 tenants deep into the ground. A special formwork system, which was customised for the construction project, was used. The anchorage-free cylindrical formwork, which did not require the use of a crane and guaranteed a low concrete drop height, impressed both us and the client.
The old primary clarifier will be replaced by a more efficient tank, which will increase the treatment capacity of the sewage treatment plant. Thanks to the good structural integrity of the old tank, it can be integrated into the sludge treatment system without any major technical modifications. The conversion work will be carried out while the plant is in operation.
