Rescue operations on the construction site are an important topic for us. We want to both sensitise our employees on site and give the volunteer fire brigade the opportunity to carry out complex rescue scenarios so that they can act more safely in an emergency.
The exercise by the Hörstel volunteer fire brigade took place on our construction site in the evening. A total of three rescue scenarios for injured persons were carried out, all of which had a special feature.
- An employee fell into the pit while working on the body shell of the feed conveyor and broke both lower legs.
- In the neutralisation shell, an employee collapsed due to a lack of oxygen caused by an accumulation of CO2. He had previously complained of pain in his back.
- An injured person was found on the scaffolding at a circular thickener.
All "accident victims" were freed, rescued and treated within a reasonable time. The exercise was also an exciting and helpful experience for our construction site team.
