This expansion will create a high-performance connection between the regions of Osnabrück and East Westphalia. The legal basis for the project is the Energy Line Expansion Act (EnLAG), in which the project is listed as measure no. 16.
The new 110/380 kV extra-high-voltage line between the NRW/Lower Saxony state border and the Wehrendorf switching and transformer station (Bad Essen) will replace the existing 110/220 kV extra-high-voltage overhead line.
The contract includes the following main construction services:
- Supply and installation of protective conduits DI > 228 made of PP (total length of protective conduits approx. 95,500 m)
- Delivery and laying of protective conduits DA 50 made of PE for four accompanying fibre optic cables (total length of protective conduits approx. 32,000 m)
- Supply and installation of OD 315 PE protective pipes for two extra-high voltage cables in closed construction using the flush drilling method (total length of protective pipes approx. 4,300 m)
- Construction and backfilling of ten sleeve construction pits per system
- Delivery and installation of liquid soil (ZFSV), approx. 65,000 m³
